Ravenna: Sites to See and Prices to Pay

You can buy a special ticket which covers five major sites in Ravenna (the numbers used here refer to the official tourist map of the town):

1. Basilica di San Vitale
2. Mausoleo di Galla Placidia
4. Battistero degli Ortodossi (o Neoniano)
5. Capella di San Andrea
6. Basilica di Sant'Apollinare Nuovo

This special ticket is valid for seven days, but it is possible to visit all five sites in one day, if you start early, because they are all located in the historical centre, not far from each other. In May 2013 the price of this combined ticket was € 11.50.

You can buy another special ticket which covers three additional sites in Ravenna (again the numbers used here refer to the official tourist map of the town):

7. Mausoleo di Theodorico
8. Basilica di Sant'Apollinare in Classe
9. Museo Nazionale di Ravenna

This special ticket is valid for three days, and it is recommended to visit these sites over three days. The national museum (number 9) has several large collections. You may want to spent some time to study them. The mausoleum of Theodoric (number 7) is not in the historical centre. It is located in the north-eastern part of town. The Church of Saint Apollinare (number 8) is not in the historical centre, either. It is located in Classe, ca. five km south-east of the town. In May 2013 the price of this combined ticket was € 11.00.

28. Access to Dante's Tomb is free, but the Dante Museum next to the tomb charges a small admission fee. In May 2013 it was € 3.00
