Carnuntum (2): The Civilian Amphitheatre

 
 
The civilian amphtheatre is located ca. 1 km southwest of
the new open-air museum.
 
 
This poster gives information in three languages about the ancient monument.
 
 
The civilian amphitheatre could seat 12-13,000 spectators, while the
military amphitheatre, located a few kilometers to the east,
could seat only 8,000 spectators.
