Frederiksborg Castle - part 3 of 3

Inside the castle
 
 
Looking at the park from the first floor of the castle. 
  
 
 Christian IV, born at Frederiksborg Castle in 1577, king of Denmark from 1588, ruled alone from 1596, died 1648. Painted in 1638 by Abraham Wuchters.

 Christian IV on the flagship "The Trinity" during the battle of Colberger Heide in 1644. Painted in 1865 by Wilhelm Marstrand.

Leonora Christina, daughter of Christian IV, Countess of Slesvig and Holsten 1621-1698, married to Corfitz Ulfeldt.


Corfitz Ulfeldt (1606-1664), count and chancellor, married to Leonora Christina, daughter of Christian IV.


The original manuscript of "The Memory of a Terrible Time" by Leonora Christina. The memoirs were written in the Blue Tower 1663-1674, but they were continued  and revised during her last years in prison and after her release in 1685 during her stay at the convent  of Maribo.


18 October 1660: the hereditary homage in front of the royal palace in Copenhagen. Painted in 1880 by Heinrich Hansen (1821-1890).
