Inside the Elephant Temple

The lotus flower in the great hall on the ground floor.
This picture is taken from the spiral ramp that leads to the top floors of the temple.

Looking at the front entrance of the temple.

The walls of the spiral ramp that leads to the top floors of the temple
are decorated with polychrome mosaics.
Some motives are very modern, such as this one,
which shows two persons riding a motorbike.

The lotus flower in the great hall on the ground floor is flanked by six huge paintings,
three on each side. Only two of them are visible in this photo.

Decorations on the walls of the temple.

This relief of an elephant with three heads is found on the wall of the circular balcony.

The car park next to the temple seen from the circular balcony.

On the top floor of the temple there are two golden statues:
The lower figure (on the right) shows the famous monk, Luang Pho Khun Parisuttho.
The higher figure (on the left) shows the Buddha.

The walls of the great hall on the ground floor are decorated with six huge paintings.

The underground room:
One section of this room is decorated with a wall painting.

The colours of the light and the decorations in the underground room
create an eerie and dreamlike atmosphere.
