Chiang Rai province: Wat Rong Khun (White Temple)

Wat Rung Khun is a large temple complex located ca. 13 km south of Chiang Rai.
In English the place is known as the White Temple.
When you see the place, or just a picture of it, it is easy to understand why:
almost every building in the complex is constructed in a white or shining colour.

The main temple

This dramatic figure is placed by the railing of the bridge that leads to the temple.

This small pavilion holds a wishing well.

This is the wishing well. On the bottom of the well
you can see some of the coins tossed into the water by visitors.

The top of the small pavilion.

This pagoda is exceptional because it is yellow, while (almost) everything else is white.

Two paintings on the yellow building:
women must turn to the left, while men must turn to the right.

Several trees in the temple complex are decorated with fantastic portraits.
