How old is King Nestor of Pylos in the Iliad and the Odyssey by Homer?
The ancient Greek poet does not tell us his how old he is, but he says he lived through three generations. Since a generation is usually defined as a period of thirty years, we can assume he lived to be 90 years old.
Here is a possible timeline:
1250 BC He is born
1225 BC He is King of Pylos
He is 25
1194 BC The Trojan War begins
He is 56
1184 BC The Trojan War ends
He is 66
1180 BC He returns to Pylos
He is 70
1175 BC Telemachos, the son of Odysseus and Penelope, travels to Pylos where he meets the old King Nestor
Telemachos hopes to find some information about his father who has not yet returned to his home in Ithaca
Nestor is 75
1160 BC He dies (age 90)
