The International Hundested Sand Sculpture Festival began in 2012.
The fifth festival runs from 5 May to 18 September 2016.

This poster, which is placed near the entrance to the exhibition area, presents the theme of the current festival: "The Great Danes: History, fiction and myths."

Christian IV (born 1577) was king of Denmark 1588-1648.
This sculpture is made by Baldrick Buckle from England.
Countess Danner and her Children.
Her real name was Louise Rasmussen.
She was born in 1815 and died in 1874.
She was the mistress of King Frederik VII.
This sculpture is made by Helena Bangert from Holland.
Karen Blixen and the African Farm.
The Danish author Karen Blixen was born in 1885. She died in 1962.
This sculpture is made by Charlotte Koster from Holland.
